Good point. Transparency is not always appropriate. We often dump on people inappropriately. It's wise to choose a trustworthy, godly sibling. I like your example: when we confess and people say "me too!" it 'normalizes' sin (nice verbage).Perhaps as listeners we should be careful not to empathize just to ease people's feelings. Yes, it's loving to acknowledge people's feelings.But perhaps acknowledge the awfulness of sin and the right response "yeh, hating is pretty awful. I agree it's worth repenting over." In 1 Corinthians 5:1-5, Paul says that people should grieve over sin.
